Smart Parking lot

Many organizations still rely on manual processes to record and monitor vehicles entering and leaving their premises. These methods are slow, prone to human error, and provide limited security against unauthorized vehicle movement or theft. Managing visitors, borrowed vehicles, and maintaining accurate records also becomes difficult when everything is handled manually. This challenge focuses on developing a digital solution that automates vehicle access control using QR codes, secure user authentication, and real-time monitoring. The system will improve security, simplify parking operations, and provide administrators with complete visibility into all vehicle activities.

Challenge Brief

The proposed solution is a web-based Smart Vehicle Access Control and Parking Security Management System designed specifically for NITDA. The platform enables staff, interns, and visitors to register their vehicles while allowing administrators to verify and approve registrations before secure QR codes are generated.

At the security gate, officers can use a smartphone to scan the QR code, instantly retrieve vehicle information, verify ownership, and approve entry or exit. The system also supports temporary visitor access, borrowed vehicle authorization, audit logging, and real-time dashboard statistics. Because it is web-based and uses smartphone cameras instead of specialized hardware, it minimizes deployment costs while improving operational efficiency and accountability.

Key Challenge Question

How can NITDA replace its manual vehicle access and parking management process with a secure, web-based system that improves security, automates vehicle verification, and provides real-time monitoring of all vehicle movements while remaining simple and affordable to deploy?

Goals & Mission

The goal is to design and implement a secure, user-friendly, and cost-effective vehicle access management system that replaces manual parking records with an automated digital platform.

The mission is to:
Improve the security of vehicles entering and leaving the agency.
Prevent unauthorized vehicle movement and reduce the risk of theft.
Automate vehicle registration, verification, and QR code generation.
Simplify visitor and borrowed vehicle management.
Provide security officers with a fast and reliable verification process using smartphones.
Enable administrators to monitor vehicle activities through real-time reports and audit logs.
Create a scalable solution that can be adopted by other government institutions and large organizations with similar security requirements.
