SafeMatch – Unified National Identity, Forensic Security & Identity Recovery Network

Nigeria faces severe security and humanitarian crises due to a critical structural flaw: the absence of a unified, cross-agency forensic data architecture. Currently, criminals operate with near-total anonymity because physical crime scene evidence (DNA/fingerprints) cannot be instantly cross-referenced against a central national directory. Concurrently, identifying missing persons, kidnap victims, or unconscious trauma patients remains a slow, fragmented process relying on scattered social media campaigns. SafeMatch bridges this gap by fusing public-facing identity recovery tools with an internal, state-backed biometric and genetic infrastructure.

Challenge Brief

SafeMatch introduces an advanced, state-backed technological framework that turns any physical checkpoint or crime scene into an immediate identification node. By capturing and digitalizing forensic datasets—specifically DNA alleles and high-definition latent fingerprints—the ecosystem maps biological footprints directly to a citizen's state identity (NIMC/NIN and BVN).
The architecture features a dual-tracking mandate: "Compassionate Tracking" for instantly identifying vulnerable or missing individuals using simple face scans or QR emergency profiles, and "Forensic Tracking" to allow law enforcement to automatically run high-speed genomic/biometric cross-matching. Additionally, it implements an AI-driven Familial DNA Fail-Safe to trace suspects via relative matching and guarantees multi-channel delivery (Web, Mobile, SMS, USSD) to ensure rural inclusivity.

Key Challenge Question

How can we eliminate criminal anonymity and drastically accelerate the identification and reunification of missing persons or trauma victims through a unified, sovereign national forensic data infrastructure?

Goals & Mission

To eradicate criminal anonymity, secure national data sovereignty, and eliminate identity recovery latency across Nigeria by deploying a free, government-sponsored nationwide biometric and genetic enrollment initiative integrated seamlessly into existing national databases.
