Challenge Brief
The Store Unit currently manages the distribution of office consumables such as A4 papers, printer toners, files, and other materials through largely manual processes. Staff members often visit the store physically to inquire about stock availability, only to discover that requested items are unavailable or cannot be issued in the desired quantities.
This process consumes valuable staff time, creates avoidable movement across departments, limits visibility into available inventory, and makes it difficult to accurately forecast future demand. Manual record-keeping also affects procurement planning, accountability, and reporting.
NITDA SMARTSTORE addresses these challenges by introducing a centralized digital platform that provides real-time inventory monitoring, online requisition, automated approval workflows, AI-powered demand forecasting, low-stock alerts, and digital reporting. The platform will improve operational efficiency while supporting NITDA’s broader digital transformation agenda.
Key Challenge Question
How can NITDA leverage Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies to transform manual store operations into a transparent, efficient, and predictive inventory management system that improves service delivery while reducing resource wastage?
Goals & Mission
To transform NITDA’s Store Unit into a smart, transparent, and data-driven digital service that simplifies inventory management, enhances accountability, improves staff experience, and enables proactive procurement through Artificial Intelligence and automation.
